Baby's Room

I know that Eva's been looking forward to this time a lot. A few days ago, I got the baby's room fixed up. We needed to move all our stuff out. Previously, it was our office/scrapbooking room. Now it will be baby Scott's nursery. I took out our stuff and removed a few thing from the walls, but that of course meant I needed to patch up a couple of spots and repaint a few places. Not a problem, we had the paint we needed. I just needed to find where I put my paint brushes. I had looked everywhere imaginable, but couldn't seem to find it. Then, in my coat closet, I decided to pull out an easter basket that was stored there, and lo and behold, there it was. I was then able to paint the spots on the wall.

I then proceeded to set up the crib. It went up quick and easy. I had decided to surprise Eva. She had to go somewhere, and would be gone about an hour and a half. I needed to finish moving the stuff out of the room, and I wanted to put up the crib before she got home. When I finished moving stuff and putting the crib up, I went to the front room and looked out the window and she had just pulled up, so it was a pleasant surprise for her to see that I had put up the crib.

The next step was to set up the changing table. It took about as long as the crib did, but I wasn't trying to go fast, just get it set up properly, since our baby will be laying on it and I wanted to make sure that it would hold him.

This is our stroller and car seat. I didn't just set this up. When we got it several months ago, we got excited and set it up even before we had moved anything out of the room. We just put it in the corner of the room, so it didn't bother us at all that it was out of the box.

Our baby's room is looking really good. I know the walls are all plain, but we just need to decide on how we will decorate them. We don't plan on painting them a different color, but may be putting up some vinyl lettering, or pictures or something. Don't know quite yet. Besides, I'm not picking that stuff, I'll just be putting up what Eva wants me to.

More Birthday Celebrations

So it's getting further through the year, and in march our family has more birthdays. Eva's Dad, Michael, and Cara. I took some pictures, but didn't get a picture of Cara taken when we saw her for her birthday.

Here's the two birthday boys. Someone forgot to verify that we had enough candles, so Eva's dad got the numbers, and Michael had to have just one candle.

Here's Michael and his girlfriend Jennifer

Here's Halley and Christopher

Here's me and Eva.

Here's Eva's parents

We had a nice meal and party for their birthday, both on March 6th. Here's some of the food we ate:

Cara's birthday is March 3rd. It was nice to go to her home and have a party and games. We played Ticket to Ride. I don't remember who won the game, but I was in dead last place. Oh well. It was still a fun game to play.

Soon, it will be our baby's birthday. It's exciting to think about.

Bye, bye sickness! Welcome 1 digit weeks!!!

Ok, so a couple of weeks ago my life was miserable!! I had caught a virus and I couldn't breathe!! I would wake up every 15 minutes or half an hour to blow my nose and drink some water so my throat wouldn't be so dry. Now if I'm waking up that often to drink water obviously that every time I got up I would blow nose, drink water and go pee. That was my life for about a week and a half. It was sucky!! Poor Greg would try to help but there was not much he could do. He felt really bad and so did I. Since Greg is a light sleeper he would wake up almost everytime as well. Since I was sick for a week and a half I thought maybe if I go to the doctor he can give me something to feel better... Well it was ALL pointless!! He said it was just a virus and I had to give it time!! Do you really think at this time in my pregnancy I have the patience to wait??? Anyway so I wasted $20 bucks going to the doctor for him to tell me that. Oh well I'm feeling much better, at least I can breathe.
Now the good news is that I'm in my 1 digit weeks!! Finally I can count down. Right now I have 8 weeks left!!! It's a very exciting moment for me since I'm very uncomfortable, no matter what I do. I cannot sit for too long or stand for long or even lay!! Its just uncomfortable. Our baby is definitely running out of room and believe me I can feel the pain.
So we're just so happy for him to come!!! I'm excited that finally his room is starting to look like a baby's room instead of office/craft room/baby room! Greg has been wonderful at taking the time to do it. Soon I'll post a couple of pictures so you guys can see it. Its really coming along. We have the crib up, changing table/dresser and shelf. All we're missing is a dresser and I really want a glider so I'll see if end up getting what I want :)
Now since the room is starting to look really nice I'm trying to stay away from the stores!! I'm instead waiting for my baby shower, which is March 21st at 4pm. I'm sending invitations out this week so look for them :)
Anyway this all that's going on for us right now, or for the past 8 months and the next...forever :)
