Party Time!!

... My birthday was August 14th and we had a little family gathering to have cake and ice-cream. I had a great birthday!! I enjoyed spending time with Scott and the whole family.

Don't you love the huge birthday card??? My nephew Daniel made it for me, he put a bunch of lighting mcqueen stickers and drew a picture of my family inside. He's such an awesome kid, I love Daniel to pieces!!!

On my birthday Scott and I decided to go have lunch with Greg, so we went and picked him at work. We really had a good time. I love my husband, he's always so supportive and helps me with anything he can! I love you amorcito!!

Here I am getting ready to blow out the candles, Elena really wanted to blow out the candles too! She really likes to help :)

Here are some pics of a few of our family members that came.

Now since Christopher's and my birthday are only 10 days apart we usually have a party together to celebrate!
Here is our Cake!

Here we are ready to sing happy birthday!

I really had a good time celebrating my birthday this year, I love living so close to family and enjoying their company on my birthday!
Thank you everyone for coming!!

Bath Time and Sleeping in his crib

Ok, so I just have to show this picture of him with his bathrob and cute little slippers!
Scott is learning so much lately and only wants to stand, he will push his legs and arch his back to show that he does not want to sit or lay, he only wants to stand.

Scott has been sleeping in his crib for a little over a month, here he is wrapped up like a little burrito, ready for the night.

Half way through the night he gets his arms untucked to be a little more comfortable.
Now this is pretty much how he looks every morning when he wakes up.

Look how big he looks, he's learning so much. Look how he's interacting with others.

Now, Kristine loves to play with Scott, she can most of time make Scott smile. Look how happy he is with his aunty Kristine!

August 14th, 2009

Today, Eva and Scott brought lunch to me. They came and picked me up. Then we went and ate lunch in the park, and were able to visit a little bit. I wanted to have lunch with Eva, since it's her birthday today. Scott saw my work for the first time today. He just looked around and didn't say much, but I know he liked seeing where I am when his Mami tells him that Papi is working.

Road Trip

We drove to Kansas last weekend.
It was quite the long trip, and fun too.
We went for Michael's wedding reception. While there, Jennifer took us to see some sites. Here's the Missouri River. It is big!
We went to Far West Missouri and saw the temple site there. The spirit was strong. I know it is truly a dedicated place for a house of the Lord when it is time for the Temple to be built there.
Scott isn't in this picture, because he's taking it. (Not really, but the camera was sitting on his stroller.)

Then we went to Adam-Ondi-Ahman. That is one cool place. Halley got Scott to laugh his head off on our way there.
Should have brought a tripod, guess the top of the car would have to do.
This is the map of the valley...
And here's the valley...
Here we all are walking up to the lookout.
Guido, Michael and Christopher went running through the valley of Adam-Ondi-Ahman.
I'm not sure who won.

Next, we visited the Liberty Jail in Liberty, Missouri.
What a small place to be imprisoned for months. The ceilings were about 6 feet tall, and one of the men in prison there was 6 foot 6 and when he was released never could stand straight up. Poor guy. Well, all of the men there were treated bad. The space is very small. As you can see in this next picture, the wood walls were 1 foot thick, the brick walls were another 2 feet thick and there was a foot of loose rocks piled in between to crush anyone trying to dig a hole through the wall to escape. Plus the roof had lots of rocks there too. The prison had only one door, and the only doorknob was on the outside, so the prison guards had to wait til their replacement came and opened the door for them to leave and finish their shift.
We then had a nice barbecue with Jennifer's family saturday afternoon, then went to our hotel room early to sleep a bit before waking up at 2:30 am to drive home so we could be back to work monday morning, and get some rest so we didn't fall asleep at our desks. Here's a bridge we drove under both directions. I think it is somewhere in Nebraska.

It was a fun trip and Scott did wonderfully.
Toward the end of the trip, Scott started disliking being in his carseat for so long. I don't blame him. It's not fun to be strapped in place. We're proud of him. We love our son. He's getting so big!
